Winter is upon us with our first look into the last season of GAME OF THRONES.
With season 8 being the last and final chapter in the Game of Thrones saga, we’re finally getting our first look into this epic finale in the ultimate battle between fire and ice. Set to premiere in April of 2019, prepare yourself for tons of Game of Thrones promo content in the upcoming months.
If you need a quick refresher on what happened last season, here’s the 411.
- Daenerys’ (Emilia Clarke) dragons and her army are heading over to Westeros
- Cersei (Lena Headey) is currently Queen … for now
- The Night King’s (Vladimir Furdik in Season 6) army is headed south
Yep, looks like the much anticipated war to end all war is nigh.
And The Fandom is taking bets on who’s going to come out on top and finally win the ‘game of thrones.’ Ok, we’re not actually taking bets, but we’re excited to see what executive producers, David Benioff, D.B. Weiss, Carolyn Strauss, Frank Doelger and Bernadette Caulfield have in store for us in this final installment of Game of Thrones.
But even though the story of the Lannisters, Targaryens, and Starks will be over, we’re told it won’t be our last trip into Westeros. Earlier this year, HBO greenlit a pilot set 1,000 years before Game of Thrones. Naomi Watts and Josh Whitehouse will appear in that prequel series.
