New HARRY POTTER Role-Playing Game Announced

A new Hogwarts themed HARRY POTTER mobile game has been announced!

After a Harry Potter augmented reality game was announced last month, fans were not expecting to get more Potter game news for a while. But it has just been announced that another game is in the works over at Warner Bros.’ Portkey Games, called “Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery.” This game is set to launch in Spring 2018. Players will be able to create their own characters and explore life as a student at the Wizarding World’s most famous school.

In the game players will go through their years at Hogwarts, participating in classes and activities that come straight out of the books. The game is set in the 1980s, which is before The Golden Trio’s time at Hogwarts, but after the Marauders. However, Warner Bros. has said that familiar faces will pop up in the school, including Albus Dumbledore.

David Haddad, president of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment said that the game will be an new exciting way for fans to explore the world they already know and love: “‘Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery’ is a mobile gaming experience inspired by J.K. Rowling’s spellbinding lore, and it will be an exciting, fun way for fans to experience the Wizarding World.”

Chris DeWolfe, CEO of JamCity, the company developing the game with Warner Bros., added that “this game is a labor of love for our developers and artists, who are dedicated to creating the most magical entertainment and game play experience for everyone who adores J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World.”
