SHERLOCK is traveling back in time for a Victorian special
As all Sherlockians know, our hiatus will temporarly end for a Victorian special airing on January 1, 2016. For the first time in the history of the show, the air dates are the same in the U.S. and the UK, which most fans are very happy about. The Sherlock special, titled The Abominable Bride, is based off of the Arthur Conan Doyle story called The Adventure of the Musgrave Ritual. New pictures were released featuring Sherlock Holmes (Benedict Cumberbatch) and John Watson (Martin Freeman) in victorian garb along with Mary Watson (Amanda Abbington) and Mrs. Hudson (Una Stubbs).
I am personally looking forward to seeing detective inspector Lestrade (Rupert Graves) with sideburns. I am hoping for an appearance of Moriarty (Andrew Scott), but he has not appeared in any of the trailers or photos, so I’m not going to get my hopes up.
Here’s the trailer again, in case you just can’t watch it enough times. (I personally can’t.)
Sherlock: The Abominable Bride airs on January 1 at 9:00 Eastern time.
