STAR TREK TV Series Reboot Announced

New STAR TREK series set to premiere in 2017!

Star Trek has been an popular TV show it first came out in 1966.  It has many movies based off of the original show, such as Star Trek Into Darkness and Star Trek: The Next Generation.  Now Alex Kurtzman and Bob Orci, who both worked on the Star Trek movie (2009), are making a brand new TV show.

“The brand-new ‘Star Trek’ will introduce new characters seeking imaginative new worlds and new civilizations while exploring the dramatic contemporary themes that have been a signature of the franchise since its inception in 1966.”  – CBS (in a press release)

Star Trek

“There is no better time to give ‘Star Trek’ fans a new series than on the heels of the original show’s 50th anniversary celebration.  Everyone here has great respect for this storied franchise, and we’re excited to launch its next television chapter in the creative mind and skilled hands of Alex Kurtzman, someone who knows this world and its audience intimately.”  – David Stapf (President, CBS Television Studios)

Star Trek was a huge hit in the sixties and still is today thanks to the new movies.  With some of the same people working on this series as Star Trek Into Darkness, I think that we can expect a lot from this new series.  Live long and prosper, Star Trek.
