Scully tells Mulder “It has a monster in it” in new X-Files trailer
Not that I dislike the long myth arc that has been the basis for The X-Files since it first aired in the 90s. Sure, they were great and intense and kept the fans on its toes about Mulder’s missing sister and the existence of aliens from outer space. But there was something about those standalone monster episodes that went beyond and gave its fans something more to either believe in or question and debate.
Of course, sometimes it was just plain fun to get scared about such things like the human-like worm living in the sewers, or the liver-eating, very elastic mutant-like dude, or the family of monsters who “keep it in the family.” Ew!
But one may even be entertained on a lighter tone by such “monsters,” like the man born with a tail who can change his appearance to look like a Fox and try to seduce a red-haired FBI partner.
However, back to my point of being excited by the prospect that at least one of the episodes will be focused on a monster episode as this trailer hints at. Because I am definitely excited.
