Check out this “Another Day” trailer for season five of The Walking Dead. Surviving during a zombie apocalypse isn’t getting any easier, but Rick Grimes and his group continue to live through another day, even after the soul-destroying death of fan-adored Beth.
After the tragic events of the mid-season finale–as well as losing the possibility of a cure in Washington, DC–Rick Grimes’ band of survivors find themselves on the road, surviving day to day and trying to hold on to their shredded humanity and dwindling hope.
Stripped of security and without a direction for the future, some of the group near their breaking point, some find themselves hardened and cold and some just try to grasp on to what little they have left.
Though they are still breathing, the line between Rick’s group and the dead is starting to blur.
Season Five starts February 8th, and has also been renewed for a season six, so no worries. You won’t be without despair for at least two years. Not only that, there’s that L.A. based spinoff coming.
Warning: possibly, unconfirmed spoilers for The Walking Dead spinoff. Read on at your own risk.
According to Vanity Fair, a script of the pilot episode of the spinoff, temporarily titled Fear the Walking Dead, was supposedly obtained and will focus on a dysfunctional family at the start of the zombie outbreak (during Rick Grimes’ coma from the pilot of The Walking Dead). The family will be played by Kim Dickens (Gone Girl), Cliff Curtis (Training Day),Frank Dillane (Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince) and Alycia Debnam Carey (The 100).
What is confirmed about the spinoff is that, in regards to zombies, we’ll most likely get to see the changes that occur to people, which could potentially be more visually nauseating as there will be more, ahem, fresh decaying flesh.
