Angourie Rice will bring extra teen drama to SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING!

The cast of Spider-Man: Homecoming is growing once again thanks to the addition of 15-year-old Australian actress Angourie Rice, a relative newcomer in Hollywood best known for her role alongside Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe in The Nice Guys.

Like the film’s role for Donald Glover, Martin Starr, Michael Barbieri, Laura Harrier and Tony Revolori before her, Angourie Rice’s exact role is still a secret. It seems likely that she’ll be an acquaintance of Peter Parker’s, but which one? Gwen Stacy or Mary Jane Watson, perhaps? Or maybe another comic character that never quite made their way to the big screen?

Either way, it’s super refreshing to see actual teenagers playing teenagers in a big Hollywood movie that’s focused on mixing action and adventure with the unique complexities of high school. Adding some fresh new faces into the mix certainly isn’t hurting, either.

Spider-Man: Homecoming swings into theaters on July 7, 2017.
