Meagan Tandy may be on a new CW show, but thanks to a recurring role on Charmed, she’s no stranger to CW. Best known for her role in Teen Wolf, Tandy has taken her fighting skills over to this new superhero show, Batwoman.
Now about four weeks into the show, we know that Tandy’s character, Sophie, was involved in a relationship with the main character, Kate Kane aka Batwoman, before breaking her heart.

Years later, they run into each other again. So when we asked what this will mean for her character at New York Comic Con 2019, Tandy shared that this unexpected reunion will be the main focus in her character’s story arc.
Sophie’s career ambition is definitely doing what she’s doing now. But had it not been for the decision she made in military school, she definitely wouldn’t have been able to do what she’s doing now. […] She’s a black LGBT woman and she may or may not be accepting of that just yet and that’s the conflict in and of itself that the audience will go along on the journey of.
Tandy also explained how taking this particular direction with her character, a character that very much got overlooked in the comics, felt very genuine. When asked to expand, Tandy shared that in telling Sophie’s story in having to make a super tough choice between career goals and love, Tandy felt like she was actually telling someone’s story, and not that of a made up character.
I feel like so many women will be able to relate to Sophie because the thing is, of course, you know, she’s a very strong woman, she’s very capable, she’s highly trained, but she’s also got the sweetest heart, and it’s just a very real story.
On a lighter topic though, Tandy said that she absolutely loves the action scenes that CW shows pride themselves on. She loves training and getting into the nitty gritty detail of the fight scenes. Her favorite stunt? Flipping a guy over her shoulder.
I mean, come on, who wouldn’t love to do that?
