A WRINKLE IN TIME finds a guiding light in Oprah Winfrey!

Oprah Winfrey is headed to a major new adaptation!

The actress, TV personality, and media senasation is the first actor announced for Ava DuVerney’s upcoming adaptation of Madeleine L’Engle’s beloved children’s fantasy A Wrinkle In Time. The novel follows the adventures of Meg Murray and her younger brother Charles Wallace as they travel through different dimensions in search of their missing scientist father, discovering a whole new world of trouble and possibilities along the way.

Oprah Winfrey will play Mrs. Which, who– along with Mrs. Who and Mrs. Whatsit– is one of three celestial beings who follow the children through the otherworlds they encounter.

Ava DuVernay will direct the film based on a script by Frozen‘s Jennifer Lee.

Oprah Winfrey previously worked with Ava DuVernay on Selma and the two are developing a show for the OWN network called Queen Sugar.
