Shortly after MK’s call, Sarah’s worst fears are confirmed with the headlights of an approaching car in the distance. Time to burn the house down and get the hell outta dodge!
They return home because Sarah wants to face the Neolution head-on, but there’s trouble on the home front.
Alison is none too thrilled by Sarah’s return because she’s already hosting a hungry, not-so-well-mannered, and pregnant Helena while trying to dominate community politics. She’s also feeling bitter because she can’t have children of her own and doesn’t think Helena is the best candidate for the job.
To help keep tabs on Helena, Donnie has been taking her to the obstetrician, where she fails hilariously at trying to be covert and Alison-like.
But during the appointment, she gets big news: She’s having identical twins!
Meanwhile, Kira is furious with Sarah for taking her away from Cal with no guarantees that she’ll ever get to see him again.
And Felix? He’s clearly feeling some stress and refusing to answer his phone. Plus, he’s in the artistic zone!
Sarah meets up with Cosima and Scott in their new hideout: A basement lab under a comic shop where they’re also growing some weed for side income.
A gene therapy has been fully developed, so Cosima is still dying. WHYYYY?
But more than that, Cosima is just worried about Delphine. She’s had no word on her. She’s doesn’t even know that Delphine was shot. Clearly, the silence is devastating her while she’s in hiding.
Sarah teams up with Art once again, hoping to get some more details on the Neolution. It leads them to Beth’s apartment, where they find her surveillance system.
We also get a solid flashback of Beth going toe-to-toe with her police union representative who also happens to be a member of the Neolution. Neither addresses the situation outright, but the tension is overwhelming!
As Art watches the tapes and realizes just how far Beth has unraveled, Sarah takes action. She snags a reluctant Felix and sneaks her way into the Neolution club to find the pregnant Neolution girl who tipped Beth off about the implants.
Once in the club, Felix is distant and unhelpful. After much prodding, the truth comes out. He’s feeling more than a little left out after discovering Sarah is actually related to their foster mother and has been searching for his birth parents.
Oh man… that’s not going to go well, is it?! If Felix was hidden away like Sarah, it’s safe to assume his birth family has an equally dangerous, crazy background.
Sarah’s luck changes when she’s approached by a man who mistakes her for MK. He gives her details about the strange Neolution cheek implant device– he doesn’t know what it does, exactly, but it will certainly kill the host if there’s an attempt to remove it.
Just as he realizes she’s not MK, Sarah swipes his phone and runs. Inside, she finds that this man had a plan to meet up with MK. Sarah heads there instead.
MK isn’t there, of course. She’s just watching on a security camera in the quiet laundromat. She’s afraid to get too involved with Sarah and we soon find out why.
In a flashback/security footage, we see Beth return to her apartment with blood on her hands and a gun in tow, shaky and wild. MK has snuck into her kitchen. It becomes clear that Beth is wrecked and ready to bail, though MK doesn’t realize what she really plans to do. MK begs her not to go, but Beth just hugs her tight and tells her to watch the others.
Later that night, Beth kills herself.
Sarah thinks she’s getting through to MK, but it all goes to hell when she spots her new clone in a car outside, causing MK to zip away.
It turns out MK wasn’t the only one at the laundromat. Neolution surgeons/murders Frank and Roxie go there. They battle Sarah to the ground, convinced that she’s MK. But after a quick touch to the inside of the cheek, they know exactly which clone she is and leave her startled but unharmed.
Horrified, Sarah rushes home where Siobhan finds the terrifying truth: While she was in Leekie’s custody ages ago, she was implanted with the deadly Neolution device.
And that’s where it all ends. OH GOOD.
