Oscar Isaac brings his uncle onto the STAR WARS set, gets cameo

J.J. Abrams loves “Estar Guars”

Sometimes it really does help to know someone in Hollywood.  Not always, but if you’re a relative of someone who’s in a big franchise that you just happen to be a major fan of, then you just might be in luck.

Such a thing happened to Star Wars star Oscar Isaac‘s uncle.  Oscar Isaac, who plays a character named Poe Dameron on Episode VII – The Force Awakens, was on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon recently.  At one during the segment, Jimmy asks him about the excitement that his friends and family must’ve had over him being in the movie, and he talks about how he brought his uncle onto the Star Wars set.

Anthony Daniels talks about Episode VII

“My uncle came to set with all these shirts he made with everyone’s names on them that said Estar Guars,” said Oscar. This caught the attention of J.J., who said, “You might be a little short for a stormtrooper.” It all worked out though, and according to Oscar, “They made him an extra. They put him in full makeup.”

J.J., being a big geek himself, has shown a pretty great amount of appreciation towards the fans and we hope it all pays off in the end come December 18, 2015.
