Some great news has risen from the Outlander front that is sure to rouse fans from a spell. STARZ has announced the casting of the anticipated role of Lord John Grey for the third season of the highlander-loving TV hit show.

Read the official description of Lord John Grey by STARZ:

“He’s a steadfast and honorable British subject, torn between a finely-honed sense of familial duty and a strong moral compass of right and wrong. He is boyishly handsome with an upper class rearing — the consummate gentleman. However, a scandal from his past has relegated Lord John to an undesirable position as governor of a desolate prison in Northern Scotland.”

As the third season will follow the third book in the Outlander series, it will pick up right after a three month pregnant Claire (Caitriona Balfe) returns to her time in 1948 and deals with her return to her first husband Frank Randall (Tobias Menzies) and leaving her second husband Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) back in the 18th century.

No date has been set for season 3 but rest assured that we will see many seasons of the beloved highlander story.
