See Brianna and Roger in full costume in new OUTLANDER sneak peek!
Warning: This post contains minor spoilers for the Outlander Season 2 finale!
Outlander is giving fans their first look at two pivotal new characters entering the hit television in the Season 2 finale: Brianna Randall, the daughter of Claire and Jamie raised by Claire and Frank after her return to the 1940s, and her future love interest (and the adopted nephew of Reverend Wakefield,) Roger Wakefield. In the books series, Brianna and Roger quickly become the story’s most important characters after Claire and Jamie and their arrival introduces some big tension and dramatic flair.
You can take your first look at Brianna (Sophie Skelton) and Roger (Richard Rankin) in all their 1960s glory in this new photo from Entertainment Weekly:
The actors also talked about their desire to do right by the fans and bring the characters to life properly.
“There is so much anticipation for these characters. I really think what we care most about is whether people are going to be happy with these characters that they’ve been waiting two years for,” said Richard Rankin.
One small detail that will be missing, though? Brianna’s Boston accent, according t Sophie Skelton!
“It’s a scary thought because of things like the fact that Brianna’s from Boston, but we decided not to go with a Boston accent. We just assumed that given how she was raised in a private Catholic school in the ’60s, she sort of had any Boston drummed out of her and she’d be a standard American.”
Brianna and Roger will make their first appearance on Outlander on July 9, 2016.
