In Outlander Season 3, Jamie Fraser’s world undergo a 20-year time-jump like Claire’s did in the Season 2 finale. But it looks like things will start off where they all left off: The Battle Of Culloden.
Entertainment Weekly has a new Outlander cover and four new stills from Season 3. Three of them show Jamie and Black Jack Randall in the heat of battle and the third is a particularly creepy shot of Claire walking through a field of dead bodies. Take a look!
With the photos also comes some big casting news: Following the time-jump, 26-year-old French actor César Domboy has been tapped to play the adult version of Fergus, the French boy Jamie and Claire basically adopted during Season 2.
Here’s the official description of grown-up Fergus from Starz:
“Born into a brothel, Fergus has grown up into a charming, devilishly handsome man with a strong sense of loyalty and decorum, despite his unconventional upbringing. He is the ultimate romantic, wearing his heart on his sleeve and falling in and out of love easily. However, Fergus’ devotion to Jamie has never wavered, making the Frenchman an integral part of the Fraser clan. Still, his debonair demeanor masks a longing for a lasting love and a permanent sense of belonging.”
Domboy has a lengthy list of credits in French film and television. He’s best known to American audiences for his role in Robert Zemeckis’ The Walk.
Outlander is set to return in 2017, though an exact release date has not yet been announced.
