Pedro Pascal, known for his work on Narcos and Game of Thrones, will lead the STAR WARS live action series The Mandalorian.
The casting announcement confirms a flurry of recent rumors surrounding Pedro Pascal’s involvement in the upcoming Star Wars series, led by famed writer/director Jon Favreau. Negotiations are now underway now that Pascal has been offered the role.
While we don’t know all the details about his role, we can guess that Pascal will be filling the role of the “lone gunfighter” described in the show’s synopsis:
“After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.”
Pascal is known for his role as Prince Oberyn on Game of Thrones, as well as various other film/TV work such as Kingsman and Narcos.
