Penguin Random House, Audible Release Free Audio Books

As social distancing becomes the norm, folks are looking for new ways to entertain themselves at home. Well, Penguin Random House and Audible are here to help!

The two companies are offering up a series of free audiobooks to the public to help entertain all, with a focus on young readers. It should be noted that most of these audio books are classics that one would expect to read in an English class, but it’s better than nothing!

Penguin Random House is offering three free titles via the Volumes app (available on iPhone and Android devices): Great Expectations, the Grimm’s Fairy Tales collection, and The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Audible is offering a much wider selection including early reader, elementary, teen, classics, and foreign language titles. You can check out the full range of free offerings on their website. The company vows to keep these titles free “as long as schools are out,” so snatch them up while you can.

In the meantime, stay safe and healthy, everyone!
