Ben Queen, creator of the new NBC DC comedy POWERLESS, has left the series due to “creative differences.”
Powerless, a new NBC comedy series set in the DC universe, has lost showrunner Ben Queen because of “creative differences.” While we don’t know exactly what these creative differences stem from, according to Deadline, the decision was a mutual choice between NBC, Powerless producer Craig Wyrick-Solari, and Ben Queen, who was the writer and executive producer. Queen will, however, continue to work at NBC under his contract.
Because of its missing showrunner, NBC has postponed the series’ production until a new one can be found. However, this will supposedly not delay the premiere of the new series because “NBC has yet to set its midseason scheduling plans.”
Powerless, starring Vanessa Hudgens, Danny Pudi, Vivien Elizabeth Armour, and Christina Kirk, is an office comedy set at an insurance company that struggles to deal with the destruction left by DC superheroes. It’s set to premiere sometime in 2017.
