Rainn Wilson is the newest cast member of the upcoming STAR TREK: DISCOVERY series.
Rainn Wilson, well-known for his role as Dwight Schrute on The Office, will join Star Trek: Discovery as the charismatic Harry Mudd. It is not known how many episodes Rainn will be in, though the original character had repeated run-ins with the crew of The Enterprise. Con man Harry Mudd was originally played by Roger C. Carmel.
Star Trek: Discovery was originally supposed to air in January this year, but was put off due to casting and production difficulties. Its expected release date is now this fall.
Rainn Wilson joins Jason Isaacs who was recently cast as the Captain. Other cast members include Sonequa Martin-Green, Anthony Rapp, Maulik Pancholy, Doug Jones, and Michelle Yeoh.
