The first synopsis of BATMAN V. SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE sets the scene for an intense adventure.
Set for a March 2016 release, BATMAN V. SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE will be next year’s first major blockbuster. There’s been a trailer, stills, plenty of set pics, and some official posters, but none of the finer details of the plot have been revealed. Now, we’re getting a better idea from the film’s first synopsis:
Fearing the actions of a god-like super hero left unchecked, Gotham City’s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis’s most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it’s ever known before.
The film is loosely based of Frank Miller’s DARK KNIGHT graphic novels, in which Bruce Wayne aka Batman is hyper-intelligent founder of the Justice League and attempts to reign in the alien powers Superman possesses, leading to an all-out war between the superheroes. This is not director Zack Snyder’s first time adapting a Frank Miller novel– he also helmed 300, based off Miller’s work.
As for those new threats? We imagine that’s where Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor comes into play!
Still no word in how Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) will factor into the story, however.
