READY PLAYER ONE narrows competition for the role of Art3mis down to three!
Three Hollywood actresses are allegedly duking it out for the female lead, Art3mis, in Steven Spielberg’s adaptation of Ready Player One!
According to The Wrap, Elle Fanning (Super 8, upcoming All The Bright Places), Lola Kirke (Mistress America), and Olivia Cooke (Me, Earl, and the Dying Girl) are all vying for the role of Art3mis aka Samantha Cooke, though she is rarely mentioned by her regular name.
Ready Player One is based off the bestselling Young Adult novel by Ernest Cline. The film will be directed by screen legend Steven Spielberg, who will focus in on the project after the completion of another adaptation: Ronald Dahl’s The BFG.
So far, there’s been no casting rumors swirling around for main character Wade Watts, his best friend Aech, or the other supporting characters we expect to see.
