RED RISING comic prequel SON OF ARES reveals stunning cover designs!

It was announced back in July that Pierce Brown‘s Red Rising trilogy was getting a comic book sequel and today, we’re getting a few visuals of what’s to come thanks to Bleeding Cool!

Red Rising: Sons of Ares follows the early days of the Gold rebellion against the system as The Rage Knight, Fitchner Au Barca, falls in love with a “lowly red” and takes the first steps toward destroying the powerful Gold government from within. That’s right– We’re getting a badass story of tyranny and mutiny focused around Sevro’s parents!

“Like the books, ours is a fast-moving story set right across the vast canvas of the freshly-colonized solar system,” said writer Rik Hoskin. “We’re exploring the effects that the inflexible regime has on an individual who’s a key figure from the books, looking at the limits of humanity in a dehumanizing system. For me, that’s the key to the books — the very human characters striving against a system geared to beating them down. It’s harsh, cruel, unfair and — occasionally — uplifting.”

Check out a whopping five cover variations for the first issue based on two different outlines, all of which are slated to hit shelves in May.
