There’s a mystery surrounding GAME OF THRONES newest actor, Richard E. Grant!
Game of Thrones has its newest cast member, but nobody knows who he’ll be playing yet!
Variety reports that Richard E. Grant has joined Season 6 of HBO’s epic fantasy drama in a what’s simply being called a “mystery role”.
The news was first posted by Grant’s casting agency, but has since been removed. With no official character confirmation in place, fans are theorizing that he could be any number of needed characters including Randyll Tarly, Aeron Greyjoy, or Howland Reed, among others.
We may be waiting quite a bit for confirmation. Case in point: Ian McShane was cast in a “mystery role” on the show in early August and it still remains quite the mystery. Chances are HBO will hold off on revealing characters for as long as they possibly can.
Richard E. Grant previously appeared on Downton Abbey as Simon Bricker and Doctor Who as The Great Intelligence, along with roles in Dig and Girls, among several other film and television works.
Game of Thrones will return to HBO in Spring 2016.
