Richard E. Grant has been cast for a non-specific mad scientist role in the upcoming Wolverine 3.
British actor Richard E. Grant (Jekyll & Hyde, Downton Abbey) was recently revealed to be cast in the upcoming Wolverine 3 movie. It was stated via The Hollywood Reporter that he’ll be playing a “villainous mad-scientist type”. This does narrow down the list of character he could be playing by a handful, but there’s still no definitive character to place. Maybe when we find out the storyline for Wolverine 3, we’ll be able to get a clue. As it stands, rumors state that Wolverine 3 could be hitting the Old Man Logan story, which is a strong possibility.
Grant will be joining a cast that includes Hugh Jackman in the starring role, fellow British actor Patrick Stewart who will be reprising his role as Professor Charles Xavier (not to be confused with James McAvoy who plays the younger version of the same character in the upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse), Boyd Holbrook, and Stephen Merchant.
Coincidentally, we had similar news about Richard E. Grant being cast in HBO’s Game of Thrones in the fall of last year for another undisclosed character who is set to appear in this season’s series. As of late, there still hasn’t been any information on what his role will be, and the season premiere aired last Sunday.
Grant’s other credits include the USA 10-episode series Dig, the HBO series Girls, BBC One’s Doctor Who, Gosford Park, and the TV mini-series The Scarlet Pimpernel.
Wolverine 3 is scheduled to be released on March 3, 2017.
