Apparently there have been rumors of what fans will be seeing and knowing at author Rick Riordan‘s appearance at Book Expo America this year. Some of it is true, and some not so true. We’ve broken it down for you below so that those who will be attending will know what to expect, and those not attending will know what not to be jealous of.
True:
- He will be attending the annual Disney Publishing dinner for booksellers and media on Thursday night, May 30th. This is invitation only, and thus will not be open to the public.
- He will be speaking at the Children’s Book and Author Breakfast on Friday morning. This is open to the public, but you must purchase a ticket for the event.
- He will be revealing the book cover for The House of Hades (Book Four of the Heroes of Olympus series, which is scheduled for release on October 8th, 2013.) The cover will be released online soon after the event.
- After the Friday breakfast, he will be signing paperback copies of The Serpent’s Shadow at table 15 in the Javits Center.
Not True:
- He will not be doing another event that’s open to non-BEA attendees.
- He will not be giving out any ARCs for The House of Hades.
- He will not be giving any sneak peeks prior to The Son of Sobek e-single that will be available on June 18th (yes, it’s the same Son of Sobek short story that is at the end of The Son of Sobek paperback, however, the e-single will also have the audiobook read by Rick himself as well as a sneak peek of House of Hades!)
