ROGUE ONE Teases Surprising Resurrection in New TV Spot

A villain from STAR WARS movies past will return thanks to movie magic!

Tickets for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story went on sale at 12:01am today and if you’re lucky, you might have been able to nab some seats for opening weekend. To celebrate, the franchise released a new TV spot that’s revealing a surprising return!

In the shadows and from behind, we see Grand Moff Tarkin watching as the Death Star is built. That’s where things get tricky, given that actor Peter Cushing passed away in 1994. He was recreated with a look-alike actor and make-up for the prequel series, but EW suspects a mostly digitized version of the character will have a cameo in Rogue One.

Take a look!

We’ll see how things pan out when Rogue One: A Star Wars Story hits theaters on December 16, 2016.
