Ronnie Raymond Will Return To THE FLASH– With A Twist

Having two different universes sure comes in handy when bringing back old favorites that have been killed off, like Robbie Amell on The Flash!

The Ronnie Raymond actor has been confirmed for a return to the speedster show, which Amell teased just after his character’s disappearance and possible death in Season 1. This time, we’ll be meeting Ronnie Raymond from Earth-2, who is not the determined, kindhearted hero we knew in episodes past.

Executive Producer Andrew Kreisberg revealed Ronnie’s big twist in a reveal to Entertainment Weekly:

“We are beyond excited to have Robbie back on The Flash. You can’t keep a good Firestorm down. Only this time, he’s back with a twist, a deadly Earth-Two version of our beloved Ronnie in the form of Deathstorm.”

In the comics, Deathstorm is a rebirth of Earth-1 Ronnie gone evil as part of the Black Lantern Corps. For the show, Earth-2 villain Killer Frost (better known as Caitlin Snow) will team up with her still-husband Ronnie as Deathstorm to cause some major problems for The Flash and Earth-2 Barry Allen!

Personally, we’ll still hoping Earth-1 Ronnie wasn’t lost to The Singularity. Perhaps he was sucked into Earth-2 instead? This is a comic book universe and with no body to be found (and really, even if there was one), there’s always a way for the character to return.

The CW has not confirmed whether or not Robbie Amell’s return will be in the mid-season premiere episode on January 19th or a little later in the season, but we’ll definitely be on the lookout.
