Acclaimed young director Ryan Coogler is ready for more BLACK PANTHER!
In a surprise to no one, Marvel has booked Black Panther writer and director Ryan Coogler for a return trip to Wakanda for the sequel.
Coogler was the driving force behind the first movie, which has earned $1.3 billion dollars worldwide since its release in February, making it the biggest box office hit for Marvel ever. It’s no surprise that Marvel would be eager to get him back for a second movie following T’Challa’s journey.
According to Variety, Coogler has plans to direct another project prior to Black Panther 2, so filming isn’t expected to begin until late 2019 or early 2020 with the original cast back on board. There’s been no rumors about what story line the sequel will follow.
As usual, Marvel isn’t confirming anything, but it makes sense given that T’Challa disappeared into ash with many other superheros in Avengers: Infinity War and we have yet to see his return (though obviously, it’s gonna happen.)
