Ryan Reynolds, Tim Miller to return for DEADPOOL 2

Star Ryan Reynolds and director Tim Miller have been confirmed to return for more fun in Deadpool 2.

Deadpool 2 is a go, as was confirmed by Fox co-chairman Stacey Snider earlier today at the CinemaCon trade show event held annually in Las Vegas.

This, of course, is probably a surprise to no one as Deadpool became a smash hit when it opened back in February of this year, breaking records and becoming the highest grossing R-rated film worldwide.  It also made Ryan Reynolds certifiably successful again and it wasn’t too bad for director Tim Miller’s feature film, either.  So, of course, they’re coming back to bring the fans more entertainment from the “Merc with a Mouth.”

Being that the Deadpool rights are owned by Twentieth Century Fox, the same studio that owns the X-Men rights, they’re limited as to other Marvel characters to bring onto this particular franchise.  The obvious choice would be to bring in other X-Men characters aside from Colossus and Negasonic Teenage Warhead (although they were fun additions, no doubt), but maybe they can also do some negotiating with other studios, like how Sony worked something out with Disney/Marvel to bring Spidey onto Captain America: Civil War.  Right?

Anyway, not that it matters much, because Reynolds’ Deadpool is truly the star of his own movie, and we can’t wait for more of Wade Wilson in Deadpool 2.
