SHADOW AND BONE Renewed for Season 2 on Netflix

We got the good news today that Netflix’s Shadow and Bone has been renewed for a second season! Certainly no mourners, no funerals today!

As with the first season, there will be either one-hour episodes, and “Jessie Mei Li (Alina Starkov), Archie Renaux (Malyen Oretsev), Freddy Carter (Kaz Brekker), Amita Suman (Inej), Kit Young (Jesper Fahey), Ben Barnes (General Kirigan), Danielle Galligan (Nina Zenik) and Calahan Skogman (Matthias Helvar) are set to reprise their roles. “

For those that follow the books, there will casting announcements for some of the other favorable characters that we might get to see, though nothing has been confirmed as to which characters will make their appearance. Obviously, a certain pirate is desired to show up for many fans. We can’t imagine this not happening, really. It’s just too good an opportunity to pass up. As for who will take on that role, we imagine it’ll be up for grabs for anyone, unknowns included.

For now, we’ll have to wait, but probably not too long now as they’ll need to start production soon if they want to get season 2 released the same time next year.

Season 1 Description:

Based on Leigh Bardugo’s worldwide bestselling Grishaverse novels, Shadow and Bone finds us in a war-torn world where lowly soldier and orphan Alina Starkov has just unleashed an extraordinary power that could be the key to setting her country free. With the monstrous threat of the Shadow Fold looming, Alina is torn from everything she knows to train as part of an elite army of magical soldiers known as Grisha. But as she struggles to hone her power, she finds that allies and enemies can be one and the same and that nothing in this lavish world is what it seems. There are dangerous forces at play, including a crew of charismatic criminals, and it will take more than magic to survive.
