If you haven’t heard already, the Shadowhunters cast, along with author Cassandra Clare, will be in attendance at New York Comic-Con! Dominic Sherwood, Kat McNamara, Alberto Rosende, Emeraude Toubia, Matthew Daddario, Harry Shum, Jr., and Isaiah Mustafa will be there on Saturday to promote the ABC Family series.
And here are the NYCC portraits of each of them, along with some info about each of the actors.
Dominic Sherwood – Jace Wayland
Some may know him from another popular book-to-movie adaptation – he played the brooding black-haired royal vampire Christian Ozera in Vampire Academy, in which he met his girlfriend, Modern Family’s Sarah Hyland. He was also seen as the romantic interest in Taylor Swift’s music video for her song, “Style.”
Katherine McNamara – Clary Fray
The natural redhead actress is also a singer, songwriter, and dancer, and started on Broadway. She had a brief stint in another ABC Family series, The Fosters, and will be seen as a blond in the upcoming Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials as Sonya, one of the members of an all-girl group in another of WCKD’s mazes.
Alberto Rosende – Simon Lewis
Still new to the Hollywood acting gig, he was in an episode of CBS’ Blue Bloods before landing this coveted role of the Jewish mundane.
Emeraude Toubia – Isabelle Lightwood
Well known in the Latin community as one of the contestants in the beauty pageant /reality show Nuestra Belleza Latina (translated to “Out Latin Beauty”), she made appearances in several Spanish TV shows before nabbing her first English speaking role in a TV series.
Matthew Daddario – Alexander “Alec” Lightwood
His older sister, Alexandra Daddario of the Percy Jackson movies, may be the better known of the Daddario family, however, that may change soon enough. He was recently seen with actor Alexander Ludwig in the movie The Game Stands Tall, and he’ll be seen with Victoria Justice in the movie Naomi and Ely’s No Kiss List, as well as the horror remake, Cabin Fever.
Harry Shum, Jr. – Magnus Bane
He was an accomplished dancer long before his long-standing run as Mike Chang in Glee. He’s appeared in many dance movies, including You Got Served, Stomp the Yard, Step Up 2 and 3D, and The LXD. And he’ll be seen as Tiefang in next year’s Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: The Green Legend.
Isaiah Mustafa – Luke Garroway
Yes, we know he’s the Old Spice guy, but he has a long running list of appearances in many movies and TV shows, including Horrible Bosses, Selfie, Nikita, Charlie’s Angels, Madea’s Big Happy Family, Chuck, and even Days of Our Lives.
Cassandra Clare
Yes, she’ll be there not only to help promote the show, but also for those who are fans of her books, she’ll be revealing the cover of her next book in the Shadowhunter Chronicles, Lady Midnight! Lady Midnight is book one of her new series, The Dark Artifices, which features the Blackthorn family, who reside in the L.A. Institute, as they deal with the fae.
