Clary visits another dimension in ‘This World Inverted’!
Shadowhunters has made plenty of departures from the original source material, The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare. But in Episode 10, the show take on its biggest– and riskiest– original twist yet!
‘This World Inverted’ will use a concept that wasn’t introduced until the final book, City of Heavenly Fire: Traveling to a parallel dimension. In the book, that dimension was Edom, which is hell for all intents and purposes. In the show, Clary is traveling to an alternate reality where demons have been eradicated in hopes of finding Valentine. But can she convince herself to leave such an ideal life to save her harsh, real world?
Official Synopsis:
Clary and Jace get a tip from Meliorn that they can find Valentine by locating a portal in another dimension, but only Clary can venture into this new world. What Clary finds in this alternative universe is that life there is as if the threat of demons no longer existed and Shadowhunters were no longer needed. While she realizes that this dimension is the life she always dreamed of, Clary must act fast or she will lose herself in the alternative world forever.
Meanwhile, Alec and Isabelle must face the consequences of the Downworlder attack.
