Entertainment Weekly just posted that there will actually be a Sherlock panel at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con:
The panel will include Steven Moffat (co-creator, executive producer and writer), Mark Gatiss (co-creator, executive producer and writer) and Sue Vertue (producer). We’re told the actors will not be attending (not too surprising, since Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman are landing big-screen projects) but there will be “surprises.” A Sherlock-loving EW writer named Hibberd will moderate. The panel’s exact day and time will be released by Comic-Con tomorrow.
This is supposed the first time that PBS has had any panel at Comic-Con, and maybe even the first time it’s had such a major presence at the “geekfest.” Well, no longer, because Comic-Con has grown beyond expectations of even the title itself. The event no longer belongs to just geeks, but lovers of anything that has a decent fanbase. And although Benny and Marty aren’t going to be there, I’m looking forward to seeing what (or who) they will surprise us with. Maybe, perchance, a sneak peek? Would Steven Moffat be so generous? We’ll find out soon enough.
More on the exact day and time soon!
