Shohreh Aghdashloo Joins THE PUNISHER In Recurring Role

THE PUNISHER finds a shrink in a veteran Iranian actress!

Oscar nominee Shohreh Aghdashloo has joined the cast of Marvel’s The Punisher in a different but familiar role.

The actress joins the cast as Farah Madani, the mother of Dinah Madani (Amber Rose Revah,) the Homeland Security agent responsible for tracking down Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal). Her character, who– like the actress– is of Iranian descent, also happens to be a psychiatrist, which may come in handy for Dinah.

As EW points out, Shohreh Aghdashloo and Amber Rose Revah played a mother-daughter pair once before in HBO miniseries House of Saddam, which was created by The Punisher showrunner Steve Lightfoot.

Aghdashloo has had roles in 24, Grimm, and Star Trek: Beyond, among others. She was nominated for an Academy Award for her role in 200’s House of Sand and Fog. She currently stars on Syfy’s The Expanse, as well.

The Punisher is expected out on Netflix this fall, but an exact release date has not been announce.
