Simon Lewis Amazed By Isabelle Lightwood in Snippet from TALES FROM THE SHADOWHUNTER ACADEMY

Simon Lewis becomes the focus on Cassandra Clare’s Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy

Cassandra Clare released this little snippet from the point of view of Simon Lewis, Clary Fray’s best friend from The Mortal Instruments series.  He will now become the focus of the new collection of Shadowhunter stories, titled Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy.

If you haven’t read the final book from The Mortal Instruments, this is a bit spoilerish.

For those of you that have finished the series, then you probably know that Simon Lewis’s story doesn’t end there.  In fact, most of the Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy will have us seeing things through his eyes.  At least, that’s what it seems like.  Cassie hasn’t been clear on that, but she has said that he’s not directly involved in all the stories that will be listed.  In fact, we know at least one of the stories will involve the characters from The Infernal Devices trilogy, and we know that not even Simon Lewis’s parents were alive at that time.

Cassie gives us this snippet, which is quite cute, given the fact that Simon’s been through so much in his short time knowing these Nephilim and the Shadowhunter world.

Simon could barely believe any of his new memories, but the idea that Isabelle Lightwood had been his girlfriend seemed more unbelievable than the fact vampires were real and Simon had been one.

Not that it should be a surprise, but considering how big of a thing it is for Simon to be training as a Shadowhunter, it’s just so adorable and funny that Isabelle is what surprises him the most of his new life.

I really can’t wait to read more.  I loved The Bane Chronicles, and I’m sure I’ll love this collection as well.

Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy is written by Cassandra Clare in collaboration with Sarah Rees Brennan, Maureen Johnson, and Robin Wasserman.

Welcome to Shadowhunter Academy is the first in the collection of 10 e-novellas, and is scheduled to be released on February 17, 2015.

After living as a Mundane and a Vampire, Simon never thought he would become a Shadowhunter, but today he begins his training at Shadowhunter Academy.
