This Savage Song, the newest YA fantasy novel from Victoria Schwab, has been optioned for film by Sony.
This Savage Song, which debut number 1 on the New York Times best seller list is an urban fantasy novel about a dystopian world where violence turns people into actual monsters. The story follows two characters, Kate Harker and August Flynn, one who wants to become a monster and one who will do anything to be human.
Currently, Tory Tunnell and Joby Harold are set to produce, and Palak Patel and Aimee Rivera will be overseeing the project for Sony. Because this is a very new project, not much else is known about the movie.
About the Book:
There’s no such thing as safe.
Kate Harker wants to be as ruthless as her father. After five years and six boarding schools, she’s finally going home to prove that she can be.
August Flynn wants to be human. But he isn’t. He’s a monster, one that can steal souls with a song. He’s one of the three most powerful monsters in a city overrun with them. His own father’s secret weapon.
Their city is divided.
Their city is crumbling.
Kate and August are the only two who see both sides, the only two who could do something.
But how do you decide to be a hero or a villain when it’s hard to tell which is which?
This Savage Song was released on July 5 via Greenwillow Books, a HarperCollins imprint. The sequel, Our Dark Duet, will be released sometime in 2017.
