HARRY POTTER will return to theaters for a special IMAX engagement!
Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them is going to have a big IMAX debut, but before it does, you’ll be able to watch the series that started it all in IMAX theaters one more time!
All eight of the original Harry Potter movies are headed to select IMAX theaters worldwide beginning on October 13, 2016, according to Coming Soon. Though the last six films were previously released in IMAX, the format release will be a first for Harry Potter and The Philoshoper’s/Sorcerer’s Stone and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, both of which were only released in standard theater formats.
There are four ticket options: Single movie tickets, Day Access to three or more films in one day, Four-Show Access over the course of the week, and unlimited any movie, any time Festival Access.
“Harry Potter is one of the most beloved film franchises of all time and is incredibly important to the history of IMAX. Therefore, being able to offer each installment—especially the initial two for the very first time in IMAX—makes this a truly magical event for fans,” said Greg Foster, CEO of IMAX Entertainment and Senior Executive Vice President, IMAX Corp.
The IMAX Harry Potter festival kicks off on the same day as Warner Bros.’ global fan event for Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, which will feature a special sneak peek in 18 cities and live Q&A with the cast streamed from IMAX theaters in London and Los Angeles.
