SPIDER-MAN Reboot Reveals Cheeky Movie Title

SPIDER-MAN prepares to take on the superhero world (and school dances) with reboot title!

The title for the new Spider-Man reboot was revealed by Sony Pictures at CinemaCon, a popular industry event in which studios show off their biggest upcoming projects, this morning. And while there’s a practical reason for it, the new title is much sassier than we expected!

The film will be called Spider-Man: Homecoming and with the reveal, the studio also released the title image:

Peter Parker, who will be brought back to the screen by British actor Tom Holland, will be back in high school once again this time around and while Homecoming is an annual high school event, the title is probably referring to Spider-man entry into the Marvel Cinematic Universe after years and years of desperate fan wishes.

TIME says that Sony and Marvel proved the connection even more with a clip that shows Tony Stark stopping by to see Peter and Aunt May, portrayed by Marisa Tomei. Sony Pictures Chairman Tom Rothman also joked that he hopes it takes Peter Parker three movies to figure out his life and powers, casually revealing that the studio is looking to do a trilogy if the first film does well.

Spider-Man: Homecoming is set to swing into theaters on July 7, 2017!
