STAR WARS: EPISODE IX Release Date Pushed Back

The STAR WARS news keeps rolling in!

On the same day J.J. Abrams was announced to be the new director of the untitled Star Wars: IX, Disney has announced that the film will be pushing back its release date by several months. The original May 24, 2019 release date is now planned to be December 20, 2019.

Though a delay is a bummer for fans always eager for the next installment, it makes sense, especially as J.J. Abrams will have the task of developing the script with Disney. Disagreements on the script were what caused Colin Trevorrow’s exit.

Interestingly enough, the live action Aladdin will claim the May release date.
