Gritty THE MANDALORIAN Trailer Revealed At D23

Showrunner Jon Favreau promised that Disney+ series The Mandalorian will be a “darker, freakier” take on Star Wars, and the new trailer revealed at D23 certainly seems to be delivering on that promise!

The new trailer features very little dialog, but focuses in on some harrowing images, like stormtroopers’ heads on pikes, women and children running through the streets as battle rages around him, and standoffs between the titular characters and his many adversaries.

The Mandalorian, otherwise unnamed and portrayed by Game of Thrones actor Pedro Pascal, is neither of Star Wars‘ infamous bounty hunters, Boba and Jango Fett. However, the character is highly inspired by the two and his adventures in the outer rims of the galaxy will fill in the gap between The Return of The Jedi and The Force Awakens, including the world post-Vader and the rise of The First Order.

Check out the trailer at the top of the post!

The Mandalorian will be available on the Disney+ service when it drops on November 12th.
