The screenwriter for The Glass Castle and Just Mercy will be adapting David Arnold’s THE STRANGE FASCINATIONS OF NOAH HYPNOTIK.

YA adaptations have yet to slow down as its popularity continues to grow on both the big screen and small screen, with films like this month’s Mortal Engines and the recent fall release The Hate U Give, and TV shows like Freeform’s Shadowhunters, which has fans still lobbying for it to be saved despite 2019 being its last season.

All that to say that we have another YA currently being worked on for film adaptation. With the announcement of a screenwriter for The Strange Fascinations of Noah Hypnotik, it’s only a matter of time before screenwriter turns out a complete script.

The book was already acquired by Paramount Players back in February, but finally found a screenwriter in The Glass Castle screenwriter Andrew Lanham, who also wrote the adaptation for 2017’s The Shack.

About the book:

This is Noah Oakman → sixteen, Bowie believer, concise historian, disillusioned swimmer, son, brother, friend.

Then Noah → gets hypnotized.

Now Noah → sees changes—inexplicable scars, odd behaviors, rewritten histories—in all those around him. All except his Strange Fascinations . . .
