Two familiar faces from cult classics join the ranks of STRANGER THINGS!

Stranger Things has been promising more big Season 3 casting news ever since the show announced the addition of Maya Hawke early last month, and now they’re delivering!

The show has cast Cary Elwes (The Princess Bride, Saw) as Hawkins’ own Mayor Kline, who was described as a “handsome, slick, and sleazy … classic 80s politician” when the news dropped at the “What’s Next” event in Rome. We sense someone who’s hubris gets him taken out by a Demo-Dog (or its equivalent in the next season.)

Meanwhile, Jake Busey (Starship Troopers, The Frighteners) signed on to play Bruce, a journalist for the town newspaper with “a sick sense of humor and questionable morals.” We imagine his snooping will turn up quite a few revelations!

At the event, executive producer Shawn Levy also confirmed that the next season will take place in the summer of 1985, over a year after the end of Season 2, and will reference “new movie” Back To The Future in its storyline– so, time travel?!

Netflix has not announced a release date for the new season quite yet.
