Meet two Hollywood newcomers headed to STRANGER THINGS!
The debut season of Stranger Things on Netflix was a surprise smash hit. The story was fascinating, but we also took note of its young talent, most of whom didn’t have many television or film credits to their name. Now, two more relative newcomers are joining the cast for Season 2, THR reports!
We don’t know exactly what happened to Eleven, but there will be another girl running around Hawkins, Indiana with the boys next season. Her name is Max and she’ll be played by Broadway veteran Sadie Sink. Max is a tomboy through and through, going toe-to-toe with the tough guys in the town. But Max’s past is “complicated” and trust doesn’t come easily.
Sadie Sink as starred in Annie on Broadway and had a regular role on the short-lived TV show American Odyssey.
Max has a “hyper-confident and edgy” older stepbrother named Billy, who will be portrayed by Dacre Montgomery. Billy is the ideal jock party boy, complete with a shiny Camaro and a habit of stealing other boys’ girlfriends. But Billy isn’t harmless– His bravado is a front for a “violent and unpredictable nature” that could spell trouble for the teens in town.
Montgomery hails from Australia and his only major film credit is that he’ll be playing Jason aka the Red Ranger in Lionsgate’s upcoming Power Rangers film.
Showrunners The Duffer Brothers have promised three new characters of Season 2, so there’s still one more left to go!
