SUPERGIRL Adds Newsman Snapper Carr

Snapper Carr is coming from the comics to DC TV!

Supergirl has cast TV veteran Ian Gomez in the new role of Snapper Carr, a new employee at CatCo who was also a civilian supporter of the Justice League in comics.

Entertainment Weekly describes the character as “a headstrong, sharp-witted newsman, hired by Cat Grant (Calista Flockhart) to be the editor-in-chief of CatCo Magazine. Snapper’s commitment to hard-hitting journalism pushes CatCo reporters to dig deeper in the pursuit of excellence. He’s a man who tells people what he thinks of them, and his no-holds-barred approach pushes Kara (Melissa Benoist) in unexpected ways.”

Supergirl moves from CBS to The CW’s strong DC Comics based line-up for its second season. The show hasn’t touched upon the Justice League, but Arrow has sewn the seeds for the Justice Society. If Kara gets on board in that movement, perhaps Snapper Carr’s support will be invaluable. But until that time, it looks like he’ll be a bit feisty with his co-workers!

Ian Gomez has previously has appeared on Cougar Town, Felicity, The Drew Carrey Show, and My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2, among other roles. He joins fellow Season 2 newcomers Lynda Carter (aka the original Wonder Woman) as the United States president and Tyler Hoechlin as Superman.

Supergirl will bring new episodes to The CW on October 10, 2016.
