The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that Glenn Morshower has been cast as General Sam Lane in the new CBS comic book series Supergirl.
The 56-year-old actor, known for his role as Aaron Pierce on the show 24, will join the cast as the overprotective father of Lois and Lucy Lane. The Hollywood Reporter gives a hint to Gen. Lane’s role in the show:
His arrival in National City stirs up trouble for Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) when he enlists her in a dangerous government initiative.
Morshower, who also held roles in X-Men: First Class and Transformers: Dark of the Moon, will recur throughout the season.
Supergirl premieres on CBS Monday, Oct. 26, at 8:30 PM and will move to a regular timeslot of 8 PM on Mondays.
