SUPERGIRL’s The Man of Steel finally has a face, and it’s a pretty familiar one!
Throughout Season 1 of Supergirl, we saw random bits and pieces of Kara El-Zor aka Supergirl’s famous cousin, Superman,– a shadowy figure here, a pair of recognizable boots there– but we never got to see the face of the Man of Steel.
Now, the show has finally found their Clark Kent in Teen Wolf‘s Tyler Hoechlin!
“Greg [Berlanti] and I have wanted to work with Tyler for ages, so this worked out perfectly because Tyler is Superman,” said Andrew Kreisberg, Supergirl’s executive producer. “We are so thrilled and humbled to add another amazing actor to the legacy of this iconic character.”
So far, Superman is only set to make an appearance in the first two episodes of Season 2, in which he’ll make a trip to visit his cousin in National City. However, there’s always hope for more appearances from the character if that goes over well.
Tyler Hoechlin has also had roles in 7th Heaven, Road to Perdition, Hall Pass, and Everybody Wants Some, among other projects.
Supergirl is headed to a new network, The CW, for its second season sometime this fall.
