SUPERGIRL To Introduce Lex Luthor In Season 4

Prepare for one of DC’s ultimate baddies on SUPERGIRL!

Supergirl is bringing one of the comic greats to the small screen for its fourth season.

Lex Luthor, one of Superman’s biggest rivals and a better know DC Comics villain, is headed to the show sometime in the coming season, according to Deadline. It’s unknown who will be playing the pivotal role as casting has not yet begun, but there’s still plenty of hype.

“We’re beyond excited to introduce iconic villain, Lex Luthor, to Supergirl and to weave him into our story this season,” executive producers Robert Rovner and Jessica Queller said in a joint statement. “We’ve talked about having Lex on the show since it’s inception and we’re excited to have him finally arrive. We can’t wait for him to shake things up in National City and watch him go toe-to-toe with not only Supergirl, but his sister, Lena Luthor.”

Lex Luthor was first in the comics in 1940. He first appearance on screen in 1950’s Atom Man vs Superman before several more on screen takes like 1978’s Superman, Smallville, and most recently, Justice League.

The “Elseworlds” crossover event features Superman (Tyler Hoechlin) once again and introduces Lois Lane (Elizabeth Tulloch), so the possibility that these three characters will interact at a later date is definitely there.

Supergirl Season 4 is airing now on Sundays on The CW.
