Supergirl is officially coming back for season 2, but with a twist!

After much speculation, Supergirl will be making the move from CBS to The CW for season 2. This will mark the fourth DC superhero series on The CW as it joins executive producer Greg Berlanti’s other shows, Arrow, The Flash, and Legends of Tomorrow.

The CW looks like a nice fit for Supergirl as the show is skewed toward younger viewers. The Flash has already made an appearance on Supergirl in a well-received crossover episode making for a smooth transition to The CW.

Production for Season 2 of Supergirl will be moving from Los Angeles to Vancouver in an effort to cut costs. All of Berlanti’s other CW superhero dramas film in the same area.

Supergirl Season 2

Based on the characters by DC Comics, Supergirl is executive produced by Berlanti, Ali Adler, Andrew Kreisberg and Sarah Schechter for Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. TV. The series stars Melissa Benoist, Mehcad Brooks, Chyler Leigh, David Harewood, Jeremy Jordan and Calista Flockhart.
