Tony Stark gets serious in Iron Man Character Poster
Robert Downey Jr. treated us to a tweet with the official Iron Man character poster for Avengers: Age of Ultron.
What’s interesting about the tweet is that he hinted at a “big announcement” coming to us in 8 days… or 7 days now. There are a slew of possibilities, given how big the Marvel Universe is.
You’ve been good so here’s a new #IronMan poster from @Avengers. & on the DL, big announcement in 8 days… #getexcited pic.twitter.com/AdB1tTib7K

My first guess is the casting announcement for the Spider-Man role, but I can’t see them planning an announcement for that unless it was at some event. Sure, they make casting announcements all the time, but I don’t believe they’re ever planned “in 8 days” or whatever. If the deal is done, it’s usually announced right away, unless, like I said, it was at a big event.
Another possible big announcement is maybe some kind of sweepstakes for the fans. Maybe it’s to win VIP passes for the grand opening of the film, or to meet the cast of Avengers: Age of Ultron, or maybe getting something signed by the cast. I know I’d be excited about any of those things. Now that’s something more plausible to be a planned announcement.
Of course, it may not be anything as grand as those two theories of mine. It could be something as simple as a new trailer, or maybe an announcement for a chance to see the first 15 minutes of Avengers: Age of Ultron, a promotion that was done for Guardians of the Galaxy before the movie came out in theaters. In all honesty, I wouldn’t be surprised if it were a trailer.
However, we’ll have to find out come March 5th. Hopefully it actually will be something big that the fans can gush about.
When Tony Stark tries to jumpstart a dormant peacekeeping program, things go awry and Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye, are put to the ultimate test as the fate of the planet hangs in the balance. As the villainous Ultron emerges, it is up to The Avengers to stop him from enacting his terrible plans, and soon uneasy alliances and unexpected action pave the way for a global adventure.
