SUPERGIRL will be joined by her iconic cousion Superman in Season 2!
Supergirl is not only getting a new home on The CW for Season 2, she’ll also be getting visits from her famous cousin, Superman!
The superhero show has confirmed plans to add Kal-El aka Clark Kent to the cast of characters for Season 2. Casting is currently underway. We know the character will appear in the first two episodes, but it’s unknown if we’ll see him beyond that.
“Greg [Berlanti], Ali [Adler] and I are beyond thrilled to welcome Clark Kent and his slightly-more-famous alter ego to the world of Supergirl,” executive producer Andrew Kreisberg announced. “Superman will be appearing in the first two episodes of the new season and we cannot wait to see who next dons the red cape!”
The show featured a young version of Kal-El portrayed by Daniel DiMaggio in Season 1, but kept the only reference to an adult version of the character heavily in shadow. The show promises that at the time of his appearance, Kal-El/Clark will already be well-known for his Superman persona.
This is Superman’s second big run on The CW: Actor Tom Welling portrayed the character on Smallville for a decade on the network.
