Watch the trailer for this week’s SUPERNATURAL episode, which delves into the Castiel’s early past in heaven.

It was announced in a previous post that actress Alicia Witt would be guest starring in an episode of Supernatural, however, we had little information as to what significance she’d have in the series. It was known that her character, Lily Sunder, had been an old adversary of Castiel’s. We now have the synopsis for “Lily Sunder Has Some Regrets,” which you can read below.

Alicia Witt as Lily, Misha Collins as Castiel, Jared Padalecki as Sam and Jensen Ackles as Dean

Lily Sunder (guest star Alicia Witt) steeps herself in black magic, honing her powers for over a century, waiting to exact revenge on a band of angels that murdered her family. Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) must work quickly to stop Castiel (Misha Collins) from becoming her next victim. Thomas J. Wright directed the episode written by Steve Yockey (#1210).

According to Alicia herself, in an interview with EW Morning Live on SiriusXM 105, her character “has been around for a very long time and is determined to rectify things.” In the episode, we’ll get to “see what happened and you get to see Lily, my character, back in the day,” and we’ll also get to see “a lot of angel blade fighting.”

If you’re wondering how Castiel fits into Lily’s revenge scheme, it probably isn’t hard to guess that Castiel might be one of those angels that Lily seeks to kill.

As for taking a look into Castiel’s past, actor Misha Collins had this to say about it:

“We just came from doing a scene in an old church where we are dealing with some of Cas’ old battalion mates from heaven. It’s interesting for him to rehash old memories, for sure.”
